Finding and attacking the cause of toothache

As mentioned above the cause of toothache can be many and varied.  For this reason we usually need radiographs (x-rays) to ascertain the dental emergency causes. If the source is from an infected pulp,  root canal therapy may be the answer.

However if the tooth is too broken down an extraction of the offending tooth will be the only solution.  Antibiotics may also be required in certain circumstances to prevent any possible further spread of the infection.
