Broken Dentures Emergency Repairs
Definition
A denture is worn by a patient to replace part of (part denture) or all the missing teeth (full denture) in the mouth.
How is it made?
The base of the denture can be made of acrylic (plastic) or a metal frame-work. The teeth will then be attached to the base or frame-work to make the denture work.
Reasons for broken denture repair:
1. The denture can be broken when dropped to hard surfaces accidentally.
2. The denture can break after chewing onto something unexpectedly hard.
3. The dog or cat perhaps took a fancy to it when left unattended.
4. After years of wear and tear and finally split or developed cracking.
5. Sometimes the teeth become dislodged from the base after years of wearing a denture in the mouth.
Use our broken denture emergency facilities if:
• The broken retainer edge is sharp and cutting into the gum or tongue and you can not talk or eat properly.
• When the breakage is near the front teeth and you are either going away for a trip overseas or just about to go to an important date or meeting.
We usually can help you by doing some immediate repair, and soon you will be on your way.
