Wisdom Tooth Extraction at the Emergency Dentist
For some people, wisdom teeth can stay in the mouth for a lifetime. For others, though, they have to get their wisdom teeth removed because of a variety of problems. This is often considered to be a dental emergency since wisdom teeth problems can become quite uncomfortable. We can handle this problem for you quickly so you can get rid of the pain in your mouth.
Why Wisdom Teeth Are Removed
We remove wisdom teeth for a variety of reasons. As an emergency dentist Bondi Beach, we see patients with lots of different issues regarding their wisdom teeth.
One probe has to do with a gum infection that is caused by wisdom teeth. We have seen many cases where a patient has wisdom teeth that have partially broken through the gums. When the wisdom teeth are partially exposed, gum tissue grows back over them. Food and bacteria can get trapped and that is when a gum infection occurs. When this is the case, an emergency dentist Bondi Beach is needed to take care of gate problem.
Impacted wisdom teeth are another problem that can occur. When wisdom teeth are impacted, they can cause a wide variety of problems, such as pain and stiffness in the jaw. When this happens, a visit to our dental clinic Bondi is in order so we can take care of the problem.
Wisdom teeth that grow the wrong way are another problem which leads to extraction. When a wisdom tooth comes out crooked, it must be removed. If it is not removed, it will become painful. Our Bondi Beach dentist can remove the tooth so you can be pain free.
The Removal Process
You will be under a local anesthetic during the removal process. As soon as you are anesthetized, we will make an incision on your gums over the wisdom tooth. At that point, we will need to remove any bone that is over the wisdom tooth so we can extract it.
You will not have a great deal of bone removed. We will actually cut the tooth up in sections. That way, a smaller portion of bone can be removed. We will then be able to remove the tooth through a small hole instead of a large one. This will save a great deal of the bone.
Making Your Surgery Easier
If you have a dental emergency, you do not want to wait. Some people put off wisdom tooth extraction for years. They think the problem will go away.
The problem will not going to go away, and they will actually become worse. In addition, the older you get, the more difficult it is to remove wisdom teeth. That is why you want to have your wisdom teeth extracted as soon as you start to have problems.
